The Spawn of our purple/brown blue-footed snail "Vegeta" (who's the female... Oopsies...) and the ivory/blue blue-footed snail Bulma (The male... Double oopsies!)
They were just born on July 14, 2025! Can confirm they are purple like their mother!
Add a touch of regal elegance to your freshwater aquarium! These peaceful, hardy snails feature deep purple, glossy shells. Perfect for natural algae control, they help keep your tank clean by grazing on algae, decaying plant matter, and leftover food.
Why You’ll Love Them:
They grow big and have a regal appearance as they glide about. (Warning: The females especially are escape artists when they need to lay clutches! Please do plenty of research before ordering them!)
Low-maintenance algae eaters that help maintain a healthy aquatic environment
Peaceful and non-aggressive — safe to keep with most fish and plants (Not snail eating fish or assassin snails)
Easy to care for — thrive in a wide range of freshwater conditions
Ideal for: Freshwater aquariums, garden ponds, and aquascapes looking for a natural cleaning crew with style.
Bring home a Mystery Snails and enjoy their gentle charm and practical benefits today!
Aquarium raised mystery snail. The shell is purple, and the body is blue. They have long flowing antennae, and long breathing tubes. My mystery snails love to take rides on airstone bubbles, and use adventure all over, or take naps. They do breed fast, when water conditions are right, but lay egg clutches above the water line. If you do not want baby snails, you can look up how to humanely and ethically dispose of the eggs. And if you want babies, you can look up how to breed. They do need a male and female, however females store clutches for a while. So even without a male, an adult snail may still have a few clutches for a while. Mine, with her husband, bear one clutch a week.
Water Parameters for Purple Shelled/Blue Footed Mystery Snails:
Temperature: 68–78°F (20–25.5°C)
pH: 7.0–8.0 (neutral to slightly alkaline)
GH (General Hardness): 6–18 dGH (they need calcium for healthy shell growth)
KH (Carbonate Hardness): 4–12 dKH
TDS: 150–300 ppm is ideal
Ammonia/Nitrite: 0 ppm
Nitrate: <40 ppm (lower is better)
(HOWEVER the parents have survived many different parameters and swings. So they ARE hardy.)
Other Care Tips:
Calcium is essential—consider cuttlebone, crushed coral, or liquid calcium supplements for strong, healthy shells.
They tolerate a wide range but thrive best in clean, well-oxygenated water with stable parameters.
Safe in both aquariums and ponds, though they may reproduce rapidly with plentiful food and warm temps.
(THESE ARE NOT FEEDERS: for pea puffers, loaches, assassin snails, etc.)
